Phuket's amazing attractions have
always been a huge crowd-puller. The natural landscape is more than Phuket
needed to be a world-class tourist destination, and it went ahead and added
man-made marvels as well! Located in Thailand, one of the most tourist-friendly
countries in the world, Phuket is a land of magic and wonder. It transports you
to a magical world that you won't want to leave. It makes for the best pictures
and the best memories, and will pull you back more than once.
Buddha Statue
One of Thailand major religions
is Buddhism, and you can see testaments to it everywhere. However, none is more
conspicuous than the huge statue of Buddha at Phuket. It is a whopping 45
metres tall and is a sacred landmark. It is located on top of the Nakkerd
Hills, in between Kata and Chalong. Visitors of the landmark can enjoy
unparalleled panoramic views of the island.
Phuket FanstaSea
No list of Phuket's attractions
is complete without mention of Phuket's FantaSea. It is less a show and more an
extravaganza, the biggest show on the island. The cast runs into the hundreds,
with animals and humans alike being brought out on stage. The story itself
blends fantasy and tradition beautifully into an event you will treasure for
the rest of your life. Once you're in Thailand, be sure you include this in any
of the Phuket packages you plan to take.
Bangla Road
Thailand is famed for its
nightlife. All over the world, and in the recent Hangover movies, the Thai
nightlife is depicted as crazy and wild. You can dip your toes into that world
in Bangla road, a 400-metre road in the middle of Phuket. Visit it at night,
and it is an eclectic mishmash of neon lights, lady boys, bars, drunken patrons
and very loud music. Lots of street performers as well as adult novelty shops
can be spotted on this strip.
PhangNga Bay
If you prefer more natural sites,
the PhangNga Bay is absolutely unmissable! It has the distinctive feature of
limestone karsts that jut out vertically from the beautiful green waters. The
most well-known islands in the region are the James Bond Island and the
KohPanyee islands. Check out the Phuket packages that include boat trips and
kayak tours from here.
WatChalong
Thailand is dotted with temples
everywhere, and Phuket's WatChalong is one of the best. The temple complex has
several pagodas, and you can take your time visiting each one. The main
building is exquisitely decorated with hundreds of glass pieces. The Grand
Pagoda even has a piece of Buddha's bone! You can get specific Phuket tour packages
that take you around the island's 29 temples specifically.
